Fundraiser for the New Orleans Accordion Festival featuring Accordianistan, Noah Adams, Bruce “Sunpie” Barnes, Ash Blume, The Klezmer All-Stars Duo, Bart Ramsey, Greg Schatz, Greg Speck, Michael Ward-Bergeman M.C. Dr. Sick The inaugural fundraiser for The New Orleans Accordion Festival will be held on November 12, 2017, at Siberia Lounge, 2227 St. Claude Avenue from 8 pm until midnight. Suggested door donations are $10-$15. Entertainment throughout the evening will include accordion performances by New Orleans’ musicians Accordianistan, Noah Adams, Bruce “Sunpie” Barnes, Ash Blume, The Klezmer All-Stars Duo, Bart Ramsey, Greg Schatz, Greg Speck, and Michael Ward-Bergeman with M.C. Dr. Sick. The festival, celebrating the accordion as a serious instrument played within many genres of music in the city, state, nation and around the globe, will have its New Orleans premier in 2018. Proceeds from this fundraiser will help in the development of a not-for-profit organization that will create year-round programs with accordion performances for education as well as entertainment. Performances will take place in schools, festivals, local agencies in New Orleans and other environments. The musicians are donating their time to help the festival become a reality in 2018.
