George Ingmire will be sitting in on the 4-7pm show at WWOZ on March 19 with a focus on St. Joseph's Night/Mardi Gras Indians. Because everyone is essentially on lockdown these days, he created a 'hotline.'

This is the greeting -

"You’ve reached the 2020 St. Joseph’s Day hotline - please leave a detailed message that I can share with listeners. If you mask, please tell me your full name, your gang and your position. Feel free to talk about the music, your experiences as an Indian or anything else you want to share. Please note that calls after 2pm New Orleans time might not make it onto the program which runs from 4pm to 7pm, March 19th."

Also, the voicemail doesn't have to be perfect. George will do any appropriate edits while respecting the message's intent.

St. Joseph's Night was scheduled for March 19. Traditionally, on St. Joseph's Night, the Indians are out in the neighborhoods across the city participating in rituals with long histories. They can usually be found under the Claiborne bridge by Kermit's, at A.L. Davis Park, and other spots at various times throughout the night.
