Gumbo Recipes for November

Published on: November 5th, 2018

Each November, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation celebrates Louisiana's most iconic food with the Treme Creole Gumbo Festival. Emerging from 18th century Louisiana, gumbo's evolution was shaped by African, French, Spanish, Native American, Caribbean and German influences. It truly symbolizes the melting-pot nature of New Orleans.

Here, we reprise seveal different kinds of gumbo from our collected recipes. These only scratch the surface of contemporary varieties available at this month's festival.

Feel free to include a link to your favorite version in the comments.
