We are pleased to spotlight and thank Deb Harkins, who has served as Chair of WWOZ's Board of Directors for the last two years. Deb joined the OZ board in 2012, and because of her talent, energy and enthusiasm was quickly drafted for many projects. Deb served as Executive Editor of WWOZ's THAT SOUNDS GOOD cookbook which sold over 7,000 copies and featured stories and recipes from some of our most iconic artists. She was also instrumental in getting a legislative bill passed which paved the way for personalized WWOZ License Plates which can be seen on cars of fans statewide. She spearheaded our successful Piano Night fundraiser for two years and served on many board committees including Legal, HR and Real Estate.

Most recently, as Chair, she lead the team which undertook a total reorganization of WWOZ and several important operational changes in keeping with Best Practices. Deb also led a fully-engaged board, the members of which are passionate about WWOZ's future and needs. Deb says, "With our talented staff, leadership, and committed volunteers, our profile continues to rise as we have become a multi award-winning station. It has been a privilege and pleasure to be of service to such a dynamic and wonderful broadcasting powerhouse."
