Calling all Guardians of the Groove! Join us on Thursday, September 12 for WWOZ's Groove Gala, an indoor festival at Tableau Restaurant and Le Petit Theatre in the French Quarter. It's most definitely not your average gala: it's more like Jazz Fest with open bars! There'll be amazing food and a music lineup that includes Irma Thomas, Kermit Ruffins, Little Freddie King, Doreen Ketchens, Wendell Brunious & Tom Hook, and Gerald French. After the Mainstage Showcase in Le Petit Theatre, we wrap up the night with dessert & dancing to grooves spun by WWOZ DJ Neil Pellegrin. Tickets are limited so please get yours today. Just Out: Fall Second Line Schedule

Fall second line season is about to roll! On Sunday, August 25, Valley of Silent Men will parade through the streets of Central City. See the schedule of upcoming events and get the route sheets & more from Takin' It to the Streets, WWOZ's multi-platform program celebrating New Orleans' social aid & pleasure clubs, second lines, Black Masking Indians, Baby Dolls, and brass band traditions. Bob Dylan Birthday Videos

Check out this collection of four tracks from the Bob Dylan tribute show at the Broadside in May, in celebration of the legendary WWOZ fan's 83rd birthday. Performers included Brian Stoltz, Susan Cowsill, Papa Mali, Johnny Sansone, Alex McMurray, Billy Iuso, and more. Our own Murf Reeves served as MC, and our video team streamed live then edited these tracks for your viewing pleasure!

Recipe: Frozen Limeade

Limeade is an under appreciated alternative to lemonade, and a popular menu item in New Orleans' many Vietnamese restaurants. This "frozen" version is perfect for hot summer days (crushed ice is worth the trouble!) all by itself, and it makes a swell pairing with rum, vodka, gin, tequila, or even club soda.
