Shout Outs: WWOZ Takes Manhattan

Thanks to every one who made our recent fund-raiser in NYC a huge success! Special thanks to Randy Fertel who let us use his gorgeous apartment, and to Courtney Slatten Katzenstein and Spence Mehl for heading up this amazing event. Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Concert Series Concludes

Concluding this weekend: the Louisiana Cajun-Zydeco Concert Series, presented by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation. Keith Frank & the Soileau Zydeco Band play on Friday, June 16, and Balfa Toujours on Saturday June 17. Both shows start at 8pm and will be held indoors at the George and Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center. WWOZ will live video stream these both shows.

Tipitina's "Free Friday" Series

Tipitina's free summer concert series is back, and the lineup is awesome! This Friday, June 16, it's Good Enough for Good Times and All That. Other upcoming acts include the New Orleans Suspects, Papa Mali's Brand New Band, Soul Brass Band, Brass-A-Holics, and many more. These weekly Friday events, May 26 through September 1, are open to everyone 21+. Doors at 8pm; shows at 9pm.

This Sunday June 18 at 4pm, the Perfect Gentlemen Father's Day Second Line Parade hits the streets of Central City. Next Sunday, June 25, it's the second line season finale with the Uptown Swingers Second Line.
