Our sincerest thanks–so appropriate at this time of year–to everyone who made our recent Fall Membership Drive a fun, funky success. We’re happy to introduce our new New Orleans Music Show hosts! Cole Williams is the new host of Tuesday's edition of the New Orleans Music Show, 11a-2p. In addition to her DJing skills, Cole fronts an African rock band. She joined WWOZ as a volunteer a few years ago and has been a steady presence at the station in a variety of facets ever since. Derrick Freeman is our new host of the Wednesday New Orleans Music Show, also 11a-2p. Derrick is also a talented musician - his resume includes twenty years of percussion for Kermit Ruffins & the BBQ Swingers along with a handful of other prominent New Orleans groups.

The Treme Creole Gumbo Fest, a production of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, returns to Armstrong Park on Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13 with all sorts of delicious gumbo and fabulous live, local music. Performers will include Rebirth Brass Band, the Hot 8, TBC Brass Band, Original Pinettes, New Breed, Soul Brass Band, and many more. And of course, gumbo! The festival is free and runs 11a-7p each day.

Recent installments have included Delfeayo Marsalis & the Uptown Jazz Orchestra's (surprisingly titled!) Make America Great Again! and Continuum by Prunka/Jenner.
