Café Istanbul, located in the New Orleans Healing Center, will host a fundraiser on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 from 8:00pm-10:00pm for “Releasing Eurydice,” a film by Tracy L. Norwood a University of New Orleans MFA Film Production candidate. This fundraising event will include a screening of the following selected short films: “Of a Promise Broken” by Christian Walker, “The Donor” by Margaret Broach, “The Preservationist” by Tracy L. Norwood and “Five Minutes Late” by Randy Mack. All selections are from local, independent NOLA filmmakers. Also on the evening’s agenda is a poetry reading by special guest Jessica Mashael Bordelon and a silent auction. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 general public—cash only, please. All proceeds raised go towards the film’s production costs.
