6:30-9pm || Preservation Hall Foundation Legacy Celebration is a free community ceremony and concert, honoring the contributions of treasured musicians passing on the traditions of New Orleans music and culture. The Preservation Hall Foundation Legacy Program was established in 2015 to reflect the values and practices from Preservation Hall’s history, ensuring our culture bearers are honored, and that their enduring contributions to New Orleans music, culture and traditions are celebrated and rewarded for generations to come. As members of the Preservation Hall musical community turn 60, they become eligible to receive a monthly stipend and access to support, resources and benefits, including but not limited to parking in the French Quarter for their performances, lawn maintenance, and a health care fund. Six outstanding musicians being inducted into the Preservation Hall Foundation Legacy Program this fall: Craig Klein, Leroy Jones, Louis Ford, Mark Brooks, Shannon Powell, and Will Smith.
