New vinyl albums from Irma Thomas, Little Freddie King, Jon Cleary, and Ellis Marsalis were released yesterday on Newvelle Records! The four artists came together last winter for "The New Orleans Collection," recorded at Esplanade Studios as a tribute to the city's musical scene and preserved on high quality vinyl. Each was recorded just before the COVID-19 pandemic began. The collection includes more than 40 never-before-heard tracks, and sidemen include Johnny Vidacovich, Alfred "Uganda" Roberts, James Singleton, Kyle Roussel, Jason Marsalis, and others.

Since they can't host an in-person record release party at this time, Newvelle has partnered with WWOZ to host one online -- in the form of socially distant live performances filmed recently, including beautiful moments with Irma Thomas, Johnny Vidacovich, Jon Cleary, Little Freddie King, and Jason Marsalis.
