The Emperor of the Universe is hitting the WWOZ airwaves this Saturday! Hear rare recordings of Ernie K-Doe's WWOZ shows from the 1980s on his birthday, February 22, from 2-8pm.

Many of these old shows have been copied on cassette and circulated among collectors, but what we're airing this week are digital copies mastered from the original reel-to-reel studio tapes, preserved by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation's Archive.
