Upcoming Shows

Bill Summers will perform with his latest band, Jazalsa, live from the Blue Nile on Frenchmen Street on Saturday, February 27, and 'OZ will be there! The broadcast is sponsored by LetsBeTotallyClear.org, so the show will be totally smoke-free, providing a healthy environment for the musicians, staff and audience.

In addition to being a founding member of Los Hombres Calientes with Irvin Mayfield and a member of Herbie Hancock's Headhunters, percussionist Bill Summers has worked with Quincy Jones on the musical score for Roots and the soundtrack to The Color Purple. Summers plays everything from traditional African instruments to soda bottles, bringing diverse people and ideas together.

We'll broadcast live starting at 10:30 p.m., so mark your calendars and tune in to WWOZ 90.7 FM or listen on the web at WWOZ.org.
