Coco Robicheaux, the son of Choctaw and Cajun parents, spent his early years between his native swamplands of rural Ascension Parish, Louisiana, and the French countryside. By age 15 he was playing on Bourbon Street and signed his first record contract with the Mississippi J.B. label in 1965.

Coco contributed to the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic by performing gratis and donating a track to the 'Get You a Healin' CD. Mr. Robicheaux was inducted into The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame on Oct. 24, 2009.

Coco will be performing live in the WWOZ studios to support our spring membership drive.  Hosted by Marc Stone.
