A graduate of the famed New Orleans Center for Creative Arts and the University of New Orleans, Kyle Roussel began playing the piano at age nine, studying classical music before moving on to perform in church and explore jazz in his teenage years. These days, Kyle is equally adept in the worlds of jazz, classical, funk, gospel, rhythm and blues, and rock. He currently performs all around the world with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. He has worked with a huge variety of artists, including the Headhunters, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Christian Scott, Donald Harrison Jr., Delfeayo Marsalis, John Boutte, Shannon Powell, Roland Guerin, Bonerama, Glen David Andrews, Mia Borders, Khris Royal and Topsy Chapman.
For this concert, Kyle will perform in an unusual setting: a Jimmy Smith-style organ trio. This show, which culminates the Jazz & Heritage Foundation's concert season, will be both interesting and fun.
