New Orleans Museum of Art
Upcoming Shows
6-9pm | This year, the New Orleans Museum of Art introduces a new food- and art-focused series of events inspired by works on view!
During this lively cocktail event with progressive food stations throughout the museum, guests will explore featured exhibitions and installations at the museum while celebrating the ability of art to connect us with friends, family, and new acquaintances.
On Thursday, July 17, the museum hosts an evening inspired by the major exhibition New African Masquerades: Artistic Innovations and Collaborations. The first presentation of its kind, New African Masquerades presents the groundbreaking work of four contemporary artists working across West Africa. After NOMA, the exhibition travels to four venues across the United States and, beginning in spring 2026, to three venues in Africa.
The second of three Salon Supper Club events scheduled this year, the July offering will notably feature a dish from guest chef Serigne Mbaye, owner and head chef of Dakar NOLA, which was honored with the prestigious 2024 James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant. Mbaye has also worked closely with Ralph Brennan Catering and Events to craft the entire exhibition-inspired menu for the night.
In addition to a collaborative menu from Dakar NOLA and Ralph Brennan Catering and Events, the evening will include cocktails crafted by mixologist Deniseea Head, also known as "Chicken and Champagne," host of BET's Cheers to That!; entertainment from Kumbuka African Drum and Dance Collective, poet Sunni Paterson, and AllStar Band; music from DJ Ojay; and other opportunities to connect New African Masquerades with New Orleans’s important histories of masking, parading, and performance.
Tickets start at $150 for admission from 7 to 9 pm. Patron tickets, available for $250, grant ticket holders access to the event starting at 6 pm
