Temple Sinai will hold a community musical service to commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., led by Cantor Rebecca Garfein and Rabbi Daniel Sherman.

The MLK Community Shabbat Service will feature special music and multi-cultural choirs to remember the life and legacy of Dr. King. In addition to the powerful and uplifting music, Reverand Herbert Brisbon III, Director of the National Center for Black-Jewish relations based at Dillard University, will deliver remarks. The evening will feature newly founded children’s choir New Voices New Orleans, along with the Loyola Gospel Choir and the Spirit of New Orleans Gospel Choir. Also participating will be members of the Klezmer All-Stars and Panorama Band, under the musical direction of Cantor Garfein.
