Author Marie McCurdy will discuss her book: The Wolf Queen at The Deutsches Haus Kulturabend on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, starting at 7:00 pm. The Wolf Queen is a frictional history novel based on true events and persons and the Germanic tribes rebellion against the Romans at the Battle of Teutoburger Forest. Ms. McCurdy herself is a warrior herself, having serviced as a Marine correspondent in Afghanistan. But now, she lives a quieter life in New Orleans with her furry family of cats. The Deutsches Haus is located at 1700 Moss St, New Orleans, LA 70119 with ample parking of premises. Door open at 4:00 pm with food and drink service. This event is free and open to the public

The Wolf Queen, Thusnelda is a warrior and chafes under the Roman rule that so mistreats her people. She is strong character and actually lived in 9 BC. It is interesting that she is even mentioned in history since women were not important for the most part.
