6-10pm | The Preservation Hall Foundation and Tipitina’s are joining forces to host a special concert honoring renowned drummer Shannon Powell, who recently suffered a stroke and heart attack.

The evening will feature performances by a lineup of exceptional artists, friends, and collaborators arranged by musical director Herlin Riley, including members of Galactic, Dumpstaphunk, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and others celebrating his impact on the music world and the spirit of New Orleans. Special Guests include George Porter, Jr., Jon Cleary, Kermit Ruffins, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Corey Henry, Tonya Boyd-Cannon, Zigaboo Modeliste, and more. Plus a Second Line by Treme Brass Band!

Shannon Powell is not only a celebrated musician but also a beloved member of the New Orleans music community. His contributions to the traditional jazz culture and as the undisputed “King of Treme” have touched countless lives.
