Located at the foot of Esplanade Avenue, the New Orleans Jazz Museum, located in the Old U.S. Mint, is a national historic landmark that is part of the Louisiana State Museum system.

The New Orleans Jazz Museum is strategically located at the intersection of the city’s French Quarter and the Frenchmen Street live music corridor. The Museum celebrates the history of jazz, in all its forms, through dynamic interactive exhibits, multigenerational educational programming, research facilities, and engaging musical performances. You can hear great music from some of New Orleans’ best contemporary artists in the state-of-the-art performance venue on the New Orleans Jazz Museum’s third floor. The Museum uses the space for evening programs, solo and small group concerts and special events while the New Orleans Jazz National Historic Park offers daily live music programs for local residents and visitors to the Museum. Upcoming Shows

7-11pm | The 7th Annual Improvisations Gala, presented by The Herb Alpert Foundation, will feature an incredible array of performers, exquisite local cuisine, craft cocktails, immersive exhibits, and light installations that will bring the 2024 theme, Aquatic Gardens, to life.

Grammy-nominated Afro-Cuban funk artist Cimafunk will headline the magical musical affair. Performances throughout the historic complex will include Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen, Little Freddie King, Wanda Rouzan & A Taste of New Orleans, Detroit Brooks,t The NOLA Jazz Museum Band, Erica Falls, The Amina Scott Quintet, Vincent Hsu & Soy La Ley Afro-Cuban Jazz Band from Taiwan, New Breed Brass Band, the Kristin Diable Band, The Treme Lafitte Brass Band, the Britney Chauntae Band and others.

Attendees will also be treated to the sights and sounds of Kit Harris & N’Awlins D’Awlins Baby Dolls, Big Queen Mary K. Stevenson & The Original Wild Tchoupitoulas, Hibriduz Jazz Band from Honduras, and the NOCCA Jazz Band.


GA Tickets are $150 (access to all performances, exhibits, food & beverage). Patron Tickets are $300 (exclusive backstage experience with a private main stage viewing area, elevated food & drink, lounge seating + additional perks).


All funds raised by the Improvisations Gala directly support the Jazz Museum’s educational programs and initiatives. Ticket sales and sponsorship ensures the continuation of valuable programs that bring the magic of jazz to life for the community and beyond.
