Rajasthani Dance Workshops at Crescent Lotus Studio

This is an exciting a rare opportunity to experience the music, dance and culture of Rajasthan, India. Dance workshops will be accompanied by Ashraf Khan’s Group, the famous nomadic folk artists who performed for the Ambani Wedding. There will be time for shopping before, between and after the workshops. 3pm-4:30pm Intro to Rajasthani Learn to play the Manjera, balance one pot on your head and some basic steps and hand movements. 4:30pm-5pm Shopping Break 5pm-6:30pm Intro to Kalbelia: Kalbelia dance is a folk dance of Rajasthan, India. It is well known by other names like ‘Sapera Dance’ or ‘Snake Charmer Dance’. The dancers show bending movements that look like a snake. Kalbelia dance is particularly performed by a tribe called ‘Kalbelia’. Learn Kalbelia dance from Pooja Sapera in this class accompanied by live music by folk artists from Rajasthan, India
