The Germans Go Irish

Sunday, March 10, 2024 - 11:00am
The Germans Go Irish. On March 10, 2024, the Sunday Before St. Patrick’s Day, Deutsches Haus will celebrate Ireland’s Patron Saint as they do in the small villages in the Old Country: with a Céilí (a gathering). We will have Celtic musicians, Irish dancers, bagpipers, traditional Irish food (plus nuggets and fries for the kids) available along with Guinness. Opening ceremony starts at noon with a priest’s blessing in Gaelic, singing of the Irish National Anthem, raising of the Republic Flag, bagpipers; then a succession of Irish dancers, musicians, sing-alongs, and ballad singers until 4:30. This event is free, kid and pet friendly, and open to everyone Irish, or wish they were. The Deutsches Haus is located at 1700 Moss St., New Orleans, LA 70119 with ample parking on the premises.
