Alfred Uganda Roberts became an ancestor one year ago (May 5, 2020). On April 11, 2021, a memorial was held for him in Congo Square.

Roberts played percussion with numerous New Orleans bands and recorded with, among others, Allen Toussaint, The Meters, Professor Longhair, and the Wild Magnolias. He was an avid teacher and mentor for his entire adult life, including to Cyril Neville, who is one of many who paid respect during this event.
