NOTE: In spite of the chilly weather, today's block party is ON! We will, however, be moving things indoors, inside Kermit's Speakeas. 

WWOZ is 33 years old -- and yet we feel so young! Please join us on Thursday, December 5 and Saturday, December 7 to celebrate.

On Saturday, December 7, WWOZ and Kermit Ruffins invite you to a Block Party from 12 noon to 4 pm, at Kermit's Speakeasy on 1535 Basin Street.

Kermit will be BBQing, and we'll have live music by the Baby Boyz Brass Band and Guitar Slim Jr!

The WWOZ Swamp Shop will also be there, for a special end-of-the-year sale of WWOZ hats, shirts, and other gear -- a great chance to pick up stocking stuffers for the WWOZ fans in your life.

On December 5, we'll be at the place where it all started, back in December of 1980 -- broadcasting from an apartment above Tipitina's.

So come out and get your groove on with Hot 8 Brass Band, Mario Abney Effect, and WWOZ's own DJ Brice Nice!

General Admission tickets $21, doors open 7:30

VIP tickets $86 - includes admission at 6:30, three-hour open bar, second-floor balcony seating, food by Tivoli & Lee, specialty cocktails by Old New Orleans Rum, and entertainment by Red Wolf Brass Band.
