"Tiny Desk Concert" videos, in which artists perform live during lunch hour at the NPR Music office in Washington DC, are plain awesome, and not just because they fulfill a fantasy of office-bound music lovers everywhere.
According to Anya Grundmann, Director of NPR Music, performing in such an unusually constrained space "forces [musicians] to do something a little bit different." You can see what she's talking about in this three-song mini-set (12 min, 52 sec in length) by Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, in which they play "Dumaine St.", "Lagniappe", and "Do To Me". The feeling of intimacy that comes through is quite striking.
