New Orleans musicians and an auditorium full of appreciative fans of our music created a second line for Roger Ebert, the film critic and long time participant of the University of Colorado's Conference on World Affairs who passed away six days ago.  These photos were taken from the end of the only second line I've ever done in the nine and a half inches of snow.

Donald Harrison and Henry Butler picked up percussion while Lillian Boutte led the parade with an umbrella decorated with pictures of Roger Ebert and giant replicas of his signature icon for reviewing movies - a giant thumbs-up or thumbs-down.  There was also the plastic women's breasts from the standard issue Mardi Gras costume.  Never saw those on Ebert's show but they worked great on the umbrella.

P.S.  Hey John Boutte, at the end of the parade your sister led everyone in the crowd in singing your song "Treme," the signature song for the HBO series of the same name.
