There's no doubt about it, the Lagniappe Stage is the most pleasant spot on the grounds for a good, relaxing show. Brazilliance's pounding jazz percussion certainly wasn't going to lull anybody to sleep, but it was very well-suited to getting a little bit of slouch on, tapping your feet and, if you got 'em, putting on your shades because you're feeling good. (And I was.)

Brazilliance!

Brazilliance!

Sonny Landreth fans were getting a different experience. Over on the Gentilly Stage he was whipping out some vicious guitar shredding, transporting his audience to his Louisiana trailer park upbringing, and no doubt wowing his fans in Holland who listened in on our re-broadcast of it later in the day!

There's been no shortage of Mardi Gras Indian performances, and judging by crowd appreciation, that's a welcome situation. Big Chief Monk Boudreaux and The Golden Eagles were squeezing out some obscenely funky tunes and, let me tell you, I had a field day snapping photos of those dancing braves. Enjoy the eye candy below!
