1) It's a good weekend in New Orleans as the weather is cooling down and there's lots to do! The Crescent City Blues & BBQ Fest is happening Friday through Sunday at Lafayette Square. Check out the lineup here. If you can't make it down, we'll be video streaming live all weekend and broadcasting live from the Camp St. Stage on Saturday. Our video team has been on site for the last two years of the festival. See their highlights from 2014 & 2015.
2) If Blues and BBQ isn't your style, head out to Lafayette for Festivals Acadiens et Creoles, happening Thursday, October 13 through Sunday, October 16. There's lots of great Cajun and Zydeco music to be heard, including performances from the Pine Leaf Boys, Feufollet, Geno Delafose, Nathan Williams & the Zydeco Cha Chas, T'Monde, Chris Ardoin, and many more.
3) Second line season is in full swing and the Men of Class are stepping out Sunday at 1p. Get the route sheet and more from WWOZ's Takin' It To The Streets.
4) The New Orleans Film Fest started Wednesday and will run through October 20. There is a fantastic number of local interest and music films screening at this year's festival-- check out our primer here.
5) Our video of the week comes from Russell Batiste & Friends performing 'Soul Second Line' last year at Jazz in the Park. Festivities for their current season run through November 3; next week's featured performers will be Mike "Soulman" Baptiste and The New Orleans Mystics. See the full schedule for Fall 2016.
