The Tin Men are an “only in New Orleans” success story: a trio consisting of washboard (Washboard Chaz Leary), guitar (deft songwriter Alex McMurray), and sousaphone (Grammy-winning Matt Perrine). The eclectic band covers an equally varied array of music: traditional jazz tunes, pop hits, jug band favorites, Motown, and some of McMurray’s own quirky compositions. While some may revel in familiar hits like “I’m Gonna Be a Wheel Someday” and “Palm Court Strut,” others delight in the Tin Men’s own classics, from “The Darling of the Okra Strut” to the title cut of their 2013 hit album, “Avocado Woo Woo.”
