Shawn Williams

Shawn Williams calls her music “alt-rocka countrybilly serial killer blues,” and her sultry voice and often dark themes prompted Uncut magazine to call her “a spiritual sister to both Lucinda Williams and Chrissie Hynde.” The New Orleans native comes relatively new to the scene, launching her career as a singer/songwriter/rocker with the release of 2017's Shadow and its acclaimed follow-up, 2018's Motel Livin'. The prolific musician’s fifth album, 2023’s Sulking in Love, features dark themes on tunes like “I Need More” and “Society.” She can often be found playing local clubs and festivals, including the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, with band regulars like guitarists John Fohl and Rick Nick and powerhouse Omari Neville on drums.
