Sharon Martin, as a solo act or with her band Music from New Orleans, brings her unique vocal stylings to every stage she graces. Martin’s sass and humor augment her top-drawer musicianship; she has played Billie Holiday in the stage performance of “Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill,” has toured and performed with artists ranging from Joe Sample to Dave Bartholomew to Deacon John to C. J. Chenier, and appeared in the HBO series “Treme.” She has won a slew of awards for her vocal prowess, and can be found educating young musicians, fighting for voting rights, and performing in clubs, on cruises, and at festivals across the globe.
