Renée Gros

Renée Gros is an emergent singer-songwriter based in her native New Orleans and known for her powerful, soulful voice. Gros had been bubbling under the surface of the local music scene when the late, acclaimed drummer Russell Batiste Jr. tapped her vocal sound to front his own band. She now performs at venues around the city and has released several singles, including “Shy Guy,” backed by musical notables Jon Cleary, Nigel Hall, and Ivan Neville. She also backed up George Porter Jr., Warren Haynes, and Joe Bonamassa at the 2023 Tipping Point benefit for Tulane University, and made her debut at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in 2024.
