A traditional brass band, started in 2006 under the mentorship of great bands such as the Storyville Stompers and the Treme Brass Band. The band is dedicated to the traditions that accompany the jazz culture so prevalent in New Orleans. The Red Hot Brass Band is compromised of members from the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts, Doyle “Red” Cooper, trumpet, Gregory Morrow, tenor saxophone, from Slidell, Colin Frishberg, trombone, from New Orleans, Jose Besselman, bass drum, from River Ridge, Peter Varnado, snare drum, from New Orleans, and Paul Robertson, tuba, from Kenner.
