Michael “The Sheik” O'Hara is a talented pianist, singer, four-time Grammy-nominated songwriter, and showman who has lived several lives and continues to delight and astound audiences with his kaleidoscopic creativity. O’Hara was raised in the St. Louis gospel church tradition, then, in the 1980s turned his talents to The Sheiks, a dance party band that ran with the hedonistic vibe of the times. O’Hara then turned to California and then New York, switching gears and sobering up to create mega hits for stars like Patti Labelle, Anita Baker, and CeCe Peniston. These days, while remaining true to his faith and spiritual roots, he’s not afraid to break out The Sheik, or his many other talented personae, to entertain eager audiences and express his creativity. His most recent release, “Michael O’Hara Presents Micha Billy” finds him stretching into a tongue-in-cheek rockabilly-soul adventure with fun originals like “Trailer Park Love” and the Elvis tribute “Boy From Tupelo.”
