Louis Michot

Louis Michot may be one of the busiest musicians in Louisiana. When not touring hard with the Grammy-winning Lost Bayou Ramblers or with his own band, the more unconventional Michot’s Melody Makers, he is leading the charge to preserve and enhance Cajun French and folklore, fighting coastal erosion, developing solar-powered generators, oh, and also writing and performing music and sitting in with a Who’s Who of legendary bands. Michot (pronounced ME-show) spent the pandemic at home on the Cajun Prairie, recording on his dry-docked houseboat-turned-studio; the result, the acclaimed  Louisiana-focused “Reve du Troubadour.” At home on the fiddle or guitar, Michot brings excitement, an engaging dynamic, and deep authenticity to every note.
