Javier Olondo & AsheSon

Javier Olondo & AsheSon are an energetic Latin jazz group built on the Cuban heritage of its charismatic and talented leader. Cuban-born guitarist and producer Olondo has performed extensively at important festivals and concert venues throughout Europe, North America and South America, and his band incorporates a variety of Latin rhythms and stylings, seasoned with New Orleans’ unique flavors.

Olondo teaches guitar at Tulane while maintaining a rigorous touring schedule. He has recorded three critically acclaimed albums and has appeared on various television and radio shows around the world. In addition to leading AsheSon, he is also the artistic director of the New Orleans International Guitar Festival and host of the popular TV show Que Pasa TV.  The band is a popular feature at local clubs and festivals, including French Quarter Fest, and farther afield at jazz events around the country, including the Monterey and Newport Jazz Festivals.
