David Doucet

David Doucet is perhaps best known as part of the Grammy-winning band Beausoleil, but the guitarist’s distinctive stylings - a hybrid of folk-style fingerpicking and bluegrass flatpicking – combined with his deep knowledge of folk music and confident voicings, set him apart as a dynamic and unique performer in his own right.

A native of Scott, Louisiana, Doucet has lived in New Orleans for many years, and is also an adept accordion player. In addition to touring and recording with Beausoleil, he has recorded with numerous folk and Cajun artists, including his brother Michael, Chuck Guillory, Octa Clark & Hector Duhon, and Camile Baudoin (of the Radiators). Since the pandemic, he has hosted a live weekly Friday Happy Hour concert on Facebook.
