Brian Mitchell is well known in music industry circles and beyond for both his solo career and his high-profile collaborations. He has recorded
his original music features a unique blend of gutbucket blues, funky New Orleans style R&B, quirky latin rhythms and occasional visits into outer space. In addition to his various incarnations of The Brian Mitchell Band and The Loisaida Social Club, he can also be heard with House Of Diablo (with Shawn Pelton).
He has recorded and performed with some of music's most respected artists, including Bob Dylan, Al Green, B.B. King, Levon Helm, Mary J Blige, Allen Toussaint, and Dolly Parton. He has also released two CD's of his own original music, Songs From The Underground and his latest, Diggin Up The Roots.
Brian's work as a composer has been featured in TV, film and theater. His original music for his band, House Of Diablo, was used in the soundtrack for the Robert Altman movie Tanner On Tanner. His blues piano stylings were also heard in the recent Broadway production of August Wilson's Seven Guitars.
