André Bohren

André Bohren is one of the most versatile musicians in New Orleans, if not on the planet. On one hand, he is a top-shelf classical pianist with over 30 years of study, a consummate professional and scholar who offers world-class interpretations of Chopin or Rachmaninoff in any venue, from an acoustically perfect concert hall to the back of a pickup truck. On the other hand, he’s a rock and roll drummer with a hard-driving funk band (Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes), a Beatles cover band (The Walrus), and the psychedelic rockabilly conglomeration known as Rory Danger and the Danger Dangers. With a third hand (because he’s Andre), he plays guitar and sings impeccable leads and harmonies with the cowboy band, The Desert Nudes. With a fourth hand, he also is a sought-after studio producer and arranger. All hands agree that the good-humored Andre, the son of the late singer, songwriter, and beloved raconteur Spencer Bohren, is carrying on the musical tradition established by his late father in exemplary style.
