Another busy weekend with too many choices.

Since the weather was too beautiful to watch the Saints on TV, I decided to start the day off with the Men of Class Social Aid & Pleasure Club annual second-line parade.

I rolled with them 'till the second stop, and after a pork chop sandwich (with the bone) from Mr. Lester, I decided to head to Lafayette Square for the Blues and Bar-B-Q Festival.

This was the third year of the festival being held in Lafayette Square on Saturday and Sunday, sponsored by the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation. I got there in time to catch Jumping Johnny Sansone and his band performing the last set of the day. Johnny started out playing guitar before switching to accordion and harmonica. This was the first time I have seen him play the guitar. A good crowd was still there, though the bar-b-q was all gone.

I then headed to Handa Wanda on Second and Dryades street to check out the Unified Indian Practice.

The Unified Indian Practices are being held on Sundays at Handa Wanda’s at 2425 Dryades Street at 8:30 p.m. and at the YIA Café at 2401 Danneel Street on the corner of First and Danneel Streets at 5:30. They should continue on 'till Mardi Gras Day, which is only just over four months away!
