Friday, January 6th is Epiphany, and on that day from 6 to 9 a.m. join me at The Jazz Crossroads for music that celebrates the season leading up to Mardi Gras. I’ll be featuring a CD that is at the core of Carnival and the Mardi Gras Indians as well as the culture of all New Orleans. The Brass Band Half Hour will occur from 7:30 to 8, with New Orleans style as well as European brass band sounds. I will also be celebrating the birthday of a musician who lives and works in the Crescent City, and, during what could become a Friday morning tradition, on my guest segment at 8:30 we will be talking about a Twelfth Night Friday night musical event.
Tune in to WWOZ-FM at 90.7 FM or at www.wwoz.org for what might just be the first Carnival-themed radio show of the Carnival season!
