Black & Gold Mardi Gras
Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints on winning their first Superbowl in franchise history! It was certainly clear from all the black and gold-themed Mardi Gras costumes and floats that all of New Orleans believed... WHO DAT?!
February 9: Saints Appreciation Parade begins at the Superdome at 5 p.m. (route map)
February 11: Muses parade will have a float bearing the wives of several Saints
February 13: Franchise owner Tom Benson rides as Grand Marshal of Endymion
February 14: Quarterback and Superbowl MVP Drew Brees rides as King Bacchus XLII
February 15: Head coach Sean Payton rides as a celebrity monarch in the Krewe of Orpheus
The Saints already made 2009 a football season to remember — now they'll do the same for Carnival. Who Dat!

Mardi Gras Indians
Many New Orleanians get in shape for Carnival by attending weekly Mardi Gras Indian practices held at several clubs around town.
One of the most popular is the Unified Mardi Gras Indian Practice at Handa Wanda's, 2425 Dryades Street in New Orleans, every Sunday evening.
