Upcoming Shows
WWOZ and Snug Harbor bring you a live broadcast of NOLATET on Sunday, February 28 at 8p. The evening of jazz will include the talents of Jim Singleton, Johnny Vidacovich, Mike Dillon and Brian Haas celebrating the release of their first album Dogs, out February 26 on Royal Potato Family. There will be a second show (not broadcast) at 10p.
Vidacovich (drums) and Singleton (upright bass) have performed together since 1977. Dillon (vibes and percussion) and Haas (piano) have been sharing co-bills and sitting in with each other's bands on the same touring circuit for over 20 years. “When music is truly happening, it leads the way,” Haas said in a statement. “When music is kinetic and meaningful, it sets its own agenda. When music is meant to be played, the music itself will find a way. This is how the Nolatet came into being. After so many incredible nights of collaborating over the years, which led to a deep, enduring friendship, the music simply demanded it.”
This Snug Harbor appearance is also the launch of Nolatet's national spring tour, which takes them through the east and west coasts, plus dates in North Carolina and Atlanta.
