Upcoming Shows
There are three Super Sunday Mardi Gras celebrations that happen each year. Super Sunday is an annual gathering of Mardi Gras Indian Tribes celebrating their heritage and culture in a magnificent display of hand-sewn suits, singing, dancing and chanting. The festival is free and open to the public.
Uptown Super Sunday is the first of these celebrations. It will happen on Sunday, March 15 centered around A.L. Davis Park (Washington Ave. and LaSalle St.) as the area comes alive with live music stages, New Orleans food vendors, beverages, retail vendors, official festival merchandise, and more.
The Annual Indian Strut begins at 1:00 PM in front of the Mardi Gras Indian Council Campus
(2608 LaSalle Street). The procession will be led by:
- Young Men Olympian (YMO)
- Lady Buckjumpers
- Prince of Wales Social Aid & Pleasure Club
- Mahogany Blue Baby Dolls
- N’Awlins D’Awlins Baby Dolls
- Creole Cutie Baby Dolls
- Many other Baby Dolls groups
- Village Brass Band
- Keep It Rolling Brass Band
The strut continues down LaSalle Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., left onto Claiborne Avenue, left onto Washington Avenue, and concludes at historic A.L. Davis Park—culminating
in a powerful display of the "Pretty Pretty Mardi Gras Indians" who proudly "Won’t Bow Down."
