The mission of Jefferson Performing Arts is to nurture the performing arts and enrich the cultural and economic vitality of Jefferson Parish and the Gulf South through production and promotion of a diverse range of quality programs, arts training and education, and professional management of performing arts venues. JPA annually provides a wide range of theatrical performances that appeal to many interests and age groups. Most seasons include a selection of musical theater, drama, dance and music.

The Chateau Flamenco Festival now proudly presents Maria Bermudez Flamenco Sonidos Gitanos- Gypsy Sounds from Jerez. It is a masterwork curated by flamenco icon Maria Bermudez presenting the best flamenco artists direct from Jerez de la Frontera in Andalucía Spain, the birthplace of flamenco. Maria Bermudez brings to the Jefferson Performing Arts Center, an unprecedented flamenco performance, from the purest gypsy tradition to flamenco’s multifaceted evolution, allowing the Louisiana audience to experience the art represented by its finest. The showcase features performances by Maria Bermudez (Artistic Director & dancer), Jesús Méndez (guest artist) singer, Manuel Valencia (guitar), Fernando Jiménez (dancer), Ana de los Reyes (singer), Miguel Rosendo (singer), and Bernardo Parrilla (violin).
