We fondly remember longtime WWOZ volunteer and Morgan City native Louis Thornberry Holmes III, who passed away on his birthday, February 19, 2021. A Northwestern Louisiana University grad and a Navy submarine veteran, Louis was always ready and willing to help the station with any tasks at hand. He especially loved lending a hand at the Crescent City Blues and BBQ Festival, French Quarter Fest, and the Jazz Fest. He often worked in production at the station editing tracks, doing voice-overs and organizing sound files.

When thinking about Louis, we remember his good humor and positive energy, and what he often said after working at a WWOZ event: "It’s all about the music!" and "Boy! That was fun!"

Thank you for your love and dedication, Louis. We miss you, and we're touched that your family chose to bury you in a WWOZ t-shirt.
