Jazz & Heritage Center hosts free fall concert series

Starting in October, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation will host a series of free jazz concerts at the George and Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center (1225 N. Rampart Street). Tickets are free, but advance registration is required for each concert.

Drummer Herlin Riley will lead his quintet in a free concert at the Jazz & Heritage Center on Saturday, October 10 at 8p. Tickets will be available starting Monday, Sept. 28, at 10a at this link.

The world-famous pianist Brad Mehldau will perform with his trio in a special concert on Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 8p. Tickets will be available starting Monday, Oct. 5 at 10a at this link.

A special concert featuring current students and recent graduates of the Heritage School of Music will be held on November 28 at 8:30p. The concert features trombonist Jeffrey Miller, now in his second year on a full scholarship at The Juilliard School, along with trumpeter John Michael Bradford and clarinetists Will Hightower, both in their first year on full scholarships at the Berklee College of Music. Also performing will be current students Jud Mitchell (bass), Ronald Clay (guitar) and Karen Antunez (vocals), and recent alum Thomas Glass (drums). Tickets will be available starting Monday, Nov. 2 at 10a at this link.

The trumpeter Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah and his band will perform on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 9p. Tickets will be available starting Monday, Nov. 16, at 10a at this link.
