One of the most popular features on the national NPR network over the last few years has been the Tiny Desk Concerts, a series created by "All Songs Considered" host Bob Boilen. Each concert consists of video and audio performed at Boilen's desk at NPR's Washington DC studios. The results go out weekly via iTunes podcast as well as on NPR's website and YouTube channel.

Past guests have included Trombone Shorty, The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Sun Ra Arkestra, Jeff Tweedy, Sturgill Simpson, Tom Brosseau, Daniel Johnston, The Creole Choir of Cuba, and MANY more.

Boilen is now on the hunt for the next group or musician to feature on this great series and, I think, is ripe for an appearance from another New Orleans area group. He is holding a contest to find the next unknown to feature on his show. This is a great opportunity to gain national exposure and engage with a large, well-established audience.

"I go to shows, most every night, hoping to find something new and surprising," says Boilen. "This Tiny Desk Concert Contest is a way for me to, essentially, time travel around the country, hear hundreds of bands that are completely off my radar, and share the most exciting and surprising ones with our music-loving audience."

Entering is simple: artists have until January 19 to submit a YouTube video of an original song, performed at a desk, for the chance to perform on Tiny Desk Concerts in DC and at the "CouchTrippin to Austin" showcase in Austin, TX this March.

Entry form can be found here: http://tinydeskcontest.npr.org/
