"New Orleans by New Orleans" is a new book compiling non-fiction, fiction and original artwork by over 100 contributors from all ages and walks of life in the New Orleans community.  There will be a release party for the book tonight (Tuesday, December 18) at the Jefferson Parish Public Library at 4747 W. Napolean Ave. in Metairie.  There will be an open mic session featuring many of the contributing authors and artists, as well as the mastermind behind the project, Ryan Smolar.  Refreshments will be served and live music provided by Jim O. and the No Shows.  The event begins at 7 P.M.  For more information on the book, including how to order a copy, visit www.bookbyauthors.org
