The KItchen Sink Tone Scientists of Ecstatic Space will bring you the annual Sun Ra New Years Party on WWOZ. At least 2 hours of Sun Ra from the over 60 recordings that the Scientists have accumulated. Expect Space, Time, Jazz, Space Time Jazz, and the Astro Infinity Arkestra from the limitless repetoire of Sun Ra. Doo Wop, Swing, Avant Garde - it will all be here. And as an added bonus, we'll be featuring Sun Ra poetry from the Kick Books (http://www.nortonrecords.com/kicksbooks/sunra.php) edition of "The Planet is Doomed" published in 2011.

I think my favorite part was the run of songs immediately following your reading of 'The State of the Cosmos.'
You chose some of my very favorite poems from 'This Planet...' to recite on the air. I could almost (but not quite) follow along with your reading from memory. Loved all of it!

Just saw the article on your Sun Ra show. I used to listen to him at the Knitting Factory in NYC many years ago. So great. Sorry I missed your broadcast. Will it be repeated sometime? Thanks for sending out a true genius.
