This Tuesday June 22, 2010 - 10:30 PM until 3 AM The Kitchen Sink and Overnight will present the music of SUN RA! 4.5 hours of the big bandleader/keyboardist/philospher/space jazz alien Sun Ra and his assorted Omniverse Arkestras to celebrate the solstice. We'll get out there with the wild space jams and in there with the doo wop and Yochanon rock'n' roll. We'll take you to Atlantis, the Magic City, Other Planes of There, Ann Arbor Blues and Jazz Festivals, and, of course, Saturn. You'll hear Sun Ra and his band to entertain you with John Gilmore, Marshall Allen, Danny Thompson, Pat Patrick (father of the governor of Massachusetts), Michael Ray, Clifford Jarvis, Ronnie Boykins. We'll be featuring new reissues from ESP and Norton Records too.
